Work / Education
작가노트 – 한정된 공간에서 바라보는 도시들은 선망의 대상이 되기도 하고 원망의 대상이 되기도 한다. 만족스로운 편안함과 안락함을 느끼면서도 뒤에서는 이유없는 뒷담화를 하는 내가 있는 바로 이곳이다. 곧 편안하다고 돌아 올 것이면서도 장황하고 그럴싸한 이유를 들며 푸르름이 있는 곳을 찬양하는 아이러니한 모습을 늘 간직하고 있다. 내 작업은 이러한 스스로의 아이러니를 표현한다. 이런 작업으로 인해 단순히 이런 모순적인 내적 갈등을 힐난하기보다 그 안에서 융화된 중도의 과정으로 나타낼 수 있는 유토피아를 찾아가는 작업이라고 할 수 있다. 그림으로 보이지 않는 공간의 통로를 만들어 때로는 은신처가 되기도 하고, 사색의 공간이 되기도 하며, 휴식처가 되기도 하는 내면의 여러 공간을 만들어 내고 있다. 여러 공간을 표현하며 그것이 단순히 공간에 한정되어 있지 않고 희망이라는 통로로 연결되어지는 여러 과정을 표현에 내려고 한다.
Cities that look in limited spaces are both envied and hated. This is where I am, who feels contented and comfortable but has no reason to talk behind my back. While he will soon return to his comfort zone, he always retains the irony of praising a green spot for a lengthy and plausible reason. My work expresses this self-serving irony. This is not simply to blame this contradictory internal conflict, but rather to find Utopia, which can be represented by a converged, middle-of-the-road process. It creates an inner space that sometimes becomes a shelter, a contemplative place, and a resting place. Expressing various spaces, it tries to present a number of processes that are not simply confined to space, but connected to the passage of hope
