About me
I started the Feeling Diary Series in 2013.
These works are inspired by the way we often keep parts of ourselves hidden in emotional exchanges between people. I intentionally left out the subjects faces for all artworks.
This freed me, as well as the piece, from over sentimentality and kept any distracting emotions from appearing.
I hope to always be an artist, and to have the ability to communicate with the world honestly with my paintbrush and canvas.
‘감정' 이라는 것은 머무르는 것이 아닌, 흐르는 것 이라고 생각한다. 캔버스 위에 표현된 감정과 상황들이 늘 같은 자리에 늘 같은 감정과 상황으로 머무르기만 한다면, 관객들의 감정도 늘 똑같이 머무를수 밖에 없다. 작품을 보는 순간과 기분과 상황에 따라서 얻어내는 감정이 다르고 시간이 지남에 따라 다른 의미가 보일 수 있기에 자유로운 감상을 방해할 수 있는 요소인 텍스트와 표정 등 직접적인 표현을 최대한 배제하였다.
사람들의 감정에는 교류가 필요한 것이며 그 사이에는 눈에 보이지 않는 무언가가 작용하고 있는 것이다. 그러나 그것은 너무나 자연스러운 것이고, 본능적인 것이기 때문에 직접적으로 드러나지 않을 뿐이다. 무언가에 집중한다면 그것에서 느껴지는 에너지가 있을 것이라 여긴다.
