About me
Anne Baudequin lives and works in the Auvergne region in the heart of France. From her studio with mountain view and its surroundings, she paints every day the impressive landscape that has been shaped by volcanoes.
Her brushes explore it, tirelessly, as a walk, renewed daily by the light, the weather changes, the seasons.
Each of her paintings depicts the moment when the unexpected beauty of a light transforms this familiar landscape and calls her to contemplate it.
Anne Baudequin paints each landscape 'alla prima'. 'This enables me to capture the atmosphere, the momentary and transient effects of sunlight. This forces me to paint quickly with lively and spontaneous brushstrokes that lend my paintings a sense of movement'.
Through all these captured moments, Anne Baudequin hopes to convey the immutable and timeless character of these landscapes.
I am a landscape painter who enjoys returning regularly to the intimacy of the still life, especially in winter or rainy day. The peaceful relationship with the subject is conducive to concentration. I paint “alla prima” from life and in natural light. It magnifies the most simple and familiar objects and casts subtle shadows in which I like to find multiple colours.
My work is currently held in private collections across the globe.

Anne Baudequin has painted since the age of 15. She always devotes herself to the landscape, her passion. She lives in a region she loves, the Auvergne in France, whose landscape is particularly inspiring. Under the light brushes of Anne Baudequin, the landscape, the valleys, the mountains become real characters and come alive, sometimes blue or pink, sometimes white and bright. In the right line of landscape painters of the nineteenth century, she observes the nature and transcripts it through her gesture, showing an impressive precision even as the brush strokes are blurred and softened. Her palette of colours is always soft and very realistic. Her skies are particularly successful and the atmospheric treatment of the horizon, the distant mists on the mountains seem as real as life... Soothing paintings, built on the impressionist heritage and keen observation skills.
