About me
My name is Nadya Basos. I am a freelance/amateur painter and illustrator.
I prefer to use water-based techniques like watercolor and batik (painting with transparent water-based inks on silk), but I also draw with ink pen and pencil.
As a teenager I studied during five years in a Children's Art School. I was studying classical subjects like academic drawing and history of art. After I also had a short two-months course of batik technique.
In the past winter I was attending a course of illustration during one semester.
I am from Ukraine, but now I live in Lisbon (Portugal) already for several years.
Work / Education
I am working in the area of cartography/geographic engineering.
I have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences and a master's degree in Geomatics (Geographic information systems).
Currenly I am working in Lisbon (Portugal), creating maps and processing geographic data, using my artistic skills to produce nice maps.
