About me
I started painting as a hobby in my younger years but did not consider myself as someone especially interested in art until about 10 years ago, when I realised that this occasional hobby was the only thing that could really make me feel alive. I then gave up pretty much everything else in my life to focus on painting. Of course, I couldn’t know back then –it feels like a long time ago now, how deep this could become. I don’t aspire to become a genius, but I keep exploring the ways in which painting takes me to higher places within myself. I investigate new techniques, new materials and, most importantly for me, new spiritual states.
Work / Education
I enrolled in a Classical Art Degree at Universidad Complutense in Madrid, only to realise over the next few years that there was no interest at this institution in any kind of art produced after the 15th Century, at which point I dropped out. I searched for alternative ways of art education and, after some years of living in retirement in the countryside, I found a school in Barcelona; here I discovered new ideas from different people, new techniques, collage, printing processes... These are the elements I have been working on in the last few years. Currently I am focusing on new approaches to matter painting and printing.
