About me
Hello. My name is Esteban Ortiz. I was born and raised in New York City. I began painting in August 2019 after learning my wife was diagnosed with cancer. Painting has become my outlet for emotions during these difficult and challenging moments in my life. My art is inspired by my life experiences, past and present. I love creating abstract paintings. They allow me to give something special to this world. Today, painting is my passion. It's what I think about all of the time. It's what I look forward to working on. It's what I want to do for many years to come. Please enjoy my work.
Work / Education
Born and raised in New York City, I never had any formal or professional training in art. Sure, I've had art classes in elementary and middle schools because they were required, but other than none. I recall always drawing when I was in elementary and middle school. I won contests for drawings, drew on clothes when that was a thing, and always drew flowers and such for my mother. Mostly drew when I was bored and had nothing else to do. Like most of my life experiences, I am learning painting by practice.
