<Review of the SookHee,Park's paintings>
The painting of the artist 'SookHee, Park' is sort of a novel. It is a story that can be read at once. The paper is filled up with the colors as one story is told. Some stories should be read by imagining and organizing the outline of the story, but some of them can be read easily. The story is the main motive of the painting as it is from the writer.
Her painting is in the literary artist's style as she expresses the painting with the story. She won the annual spring literary contest in Korean Daily Report and it made her debut as a writer. Also, the first exhibition for her artwork was held in Jan, 2014 as a painter. It means the painting for her is an extension of writing. She uses colors instead of words to show a stream of consciousness.
Her paintings are characterized by variety and it is difficult enough to say that they are from one artist.
She says "A lot of artwork that I have painted so far are unfamiliar even to me. The reason is that my painting isn't from my inside but it is the world itself as expressed by me. So I wonder how the outside world with infinite possibilities can be shown with my paintings."
As it appears in her saying, her inside is constantly changing and it is always opened to the world. So, various experiments will be conducted in her paintings and we can expect a large, integrated story.
She also says this: "I don't know what direction my art work is heading for the future, as we don't know how the world changes in the future". It means she leaves the possibility of her paintings open infinitely.
She takes notes or sketches every time inspiration comes to her, but it seems unnecessary for her to take notes anymore. It is just enough for her to have canvasses that can be painted immediately.
She paints under the pen name "Don(弴)" which means "the painting arrow". We need to watch where her arrow is heading.
