About me
I'm Gabriela Zamudio, a medstudent, and artist from Mexico, passionate about philosophy, science and traveling.
I don't have a style at all, I experiment with all kind of materials and techniques from charcoal to oil and pastels, but my favorite one by far is drawing with sharpies, to capture a face, ones own expression; I like to draw with sharpies because they don't allow you to make a mistake, you have just one opportunity to make it right, they let you improvise with total freedom. I like to draw faces cause they can express every feeling imaginable without having the rigidity of a building or a static object, you can turn a mouth into a smile and a hand into a kind gesture.
Maybe I'm some of an idealist, but I really think that art can change the world.
I don't have a studio, I have just one canvass and I put it wherever I want, in the balcony, the garden; the middle of my room or a park, I don't need a studio, I believe in the itinerancy, I don't think art can be kept between four walls; the whole world is my working place. I enjoy the freedom of art painting without shoes with my feet feeling the grass, the ground or the floor. I use no chair or bank, I paint sat on the floor or on my feet so I can move more freely.
I think that art is the freest manifestation of life.
In a few words I am Gabriela Zamudio, an artist, philosopher, traveler and medstudent.
Work / Education
Still don't know if I am a doctor willing to become an artist, or an artist willing to become a doctor. No matter what te case, I passionately and equally work on both, trying to achieve perfection.
I am a self taught artist, inspired by Klimt's gold and Schiele's drawings.
I work with oil, pastels, watercolors and sharpies
