My interest is an infinite world that is unfolded behind a mortal life.
In order to pass this world onto an artwork, I have chosen action painting.
The act of throwing my whole body to the spread-out fabric instead of the paintbrush is the process of projecting my unconsciousness as it is and the best method to reflect the world that I want to express.
Mostly the unprocessed cloths are chosen to be used for action painting as it is the best fabric to represent the texture of skin. The cloths that can adequately absorb the properties of paint and embrace the traces are similar to the skin that melts accords with the passage of time. In other words, the activity of placing my traces onto the cloths represents the media to reflect my mortal life as it is.
The activity involves throwing my whole body and other substitutes of the paint brush such as over-worn jeans or bags by soaking them. Including myself, the whole procedure of including the traces of abandoned tools signifies “reborn”. It is also a former stage that brings about another possibility that reminds of a specific feature through the traces of my unconscious languages. Additionally, these unfolded traces seemed as if they were reflecting the chaos and emptiness. Through this chaos I looked for new features.
By ripping off the cloths and recombining them through stitching into each stitch the new inner feature will be born. The features that I am directing to have been made by an abstract or other features were affected by the inner-side conflicting elements. As I needed to solve these conflicts and elements caused by the imageries, I could not limit my work with only one material nor subject. For this reason, I started to make new features in several of ways from the abstractive, conceptual and two-dimensional works to an installation and performance. Therefore, without having a limitation as a subject, my work maintains its persistency through the combination of two extreme acts such as action painting and sewing.
From 2006 to 2009 in order to find my own identity I have been expressing through abstract works. After 2009 I have been harmonizing myself with society and to solve the conflicts that arose from it, I have tried different works that included putting them into more clear forms. Now, I am including different life elements into the work through installing the boundary between the abstract and concept with skin and also different performances. Through the symbolic features of a flower, cross, skull and eye, or sometimes abstracts, I am engaging with my project in order for my inner-side to be reborn again.
