This series of works is depicting a few of the rapes and sexual assaults in Greek mythology. Leda, Daphne, and Medusa are all victims of violent sexual assaults, and while their attacks have been illustrated in countless pieces of art throughout history, almost all of the works seem to romanticize the attacks. The women look rather passive and could even be seen as enjoying their own assault. These works are meant to illustrate sexual assaults as something they really are: traumatic and gruesome attacks.
