Candyland
Description
This is a part of my Dark Fantasy Series comprised of seven charcoal drawings and poems. The series is an attempt to emulate surrealist principles and environments. I manipulate my illustrated nightmare into ‘dreamscape.’ The viewer may believe that what they're seeing is a dream, but that is not the case. Within this piece, the audience may reminisce on their childhood memories surface of candyland and feel nostalgic. What they may fail to recognize at first is that the candyland resembles more similarities to Hansel & Gretel. There are gummy bears as hostage, guns with exploding lemonheads, skulls, and gravestones. It is meant to bring awareness that be careful what may appear to be a 'dream.'
