Using source material derived from Pernilla's personal archive of family albums, her series of paintings explore the nature/nurture concept where the communication between the interior /exterior, the past/present, and the physical/psychological act as a spring board.
Although her personal story is key, the painting process allows Pernilla to create something more general and universal to act as a platform for potential dialogues on cultural heritage. The aim is to create an interest in our own and others cultural set up and thereby increase a tolerance of each other.
