Echo from Purdah #1
Description
This work attempts to show the diversity of hijabs and its wearers in the throes of cultural, social, and political ideologies in Indonesia's Muslim society following the end of the new Order era. The "veil" could be interpreted as an antinomy (if not a paradox) of arguments and aspects beyond the essence of Islam which contradict yet still remain in coexistence with each other.

I like the obscure style of this artwork. The overall atmosphere seems dull. However, the contents are narrative.

The style of this artwork is quite symbolic and the contents are rather poetic. However, those together make deep atmosphere in general.

@Lydia I'm saddened to see your comment about this piece being ''inappropriate''... I believe this is extremely appropriate... especially because of the times we are living in. I see a beautiful exploration of a culture/religion/ideology that many people have trouble understanding or tolerating. Amazing work
