Growing up I was always fond of my mothers China, but being raised in a predominately male family these objects were not meant for me. I decided to paint the China as a way to connect to my mother and with these "feminine" objects. While painting them it felt like a guilty pleasure, something I always wanted to indulge in, but never felt I could.
