In this painting 'Lost Current’ I particularly wanted to depict the loneliness and fear of a foreign world, such as submerging ourselves into the depths of the sea. My relocation to Australia five years ago has had its’ challenges for me, making that connection with people of a different cultural background and language. So in many ways this painting is an allegory of my relocation here, where there are periods of great joy and happiness and yet still times of despair and isolation.
