Cause and Effect_Cause1
Description
Visualizing time means transferring experiences through space or object. I am fascinated by invisible organic process, employing artificial materials. As temporal phenomenon is visualized as a distinguishable form, changes are exposed through my work.
In the Cause and Effect series, I have built a structure from which wax drips, forming faux stalagmites through an organic process. Eight lamps hang on the adjustable chains suspended from the metal structure. From them is suspended a mesh, where wax melts and drips. By having a rectangular container below and adding pigments to wax, I am in control of the shapes and colors, but not in full control of the build up of the drips, which create multiple works simultaneously.
