Inspiration for this painting came when I read a short legend about the peacock. Briefly, it is said that when the Creator of Earth created the birds, at first they were all white. At the end of the day, even if they were lovely this way, the Creator had this idea to color them, so every bird was recalled to be colored, each to be unique. The first bird to arrive was the peacock and so the Creator made this beautiful, magnificent feathers with a magic iridescence touch. When all was done, the Creator gave the peacock the mission to go and transmit the message to all birds to come back to be colored. It is said that this is the reason why the peacock screams so loud.
The peacock is the celebration of creativity and decoration in nature and so it's beauty is legendary and breathtaking. Moreover, the peacock is also a reminder that on this planet every being is unique and uniqueness is who we are.
For this painting I used real peacock feathers application over canvas, for a more realistic representation, and the ballerina symbolizes the integration of human in Creation and to acknowledge our creative abilities and to be as proud as the peacock when we show them to the world.
The scene of the artwork is taking place in a wild but green savanna, green here is for the abundance and fertility of nature, at a sunset moment witnessed by 9 suns over the skyline, like it's the end of a cycle, the final act of a show. The blue ballerina, colored like the peacock, is making a bow for the tail to spread and show the magnificence of the Creation in birds language of beauty. She also represents the archetype of the Artist whose mission is to show and to inspire the world to embrace uniqueness and simply be magnificent.
