Vermeer's pearl
Description
This painting's inspiration is the great masterpiece of Vermeer's, The girl with a pearl earring. What truly impressed me in the original, was the story behind and how Vermeer managed to break all social conditions, painting a simple girl, in exotic clothing wearing an pearl earring which at that time was scandalous. Even so, the girl look in the eyes shows a clandestine connection between the artist and the muse, and reinforce somehow the myth of Cinderella.
Why did I used mirroring in this painting? I don't know...I simple answer would be....perhaps out of a self pleasure to see it ...like I can't get enough seeing her.
The dancer in the center of the painting marks trough her body language a sign of victory, the victory of a story of a poor girl who became a masterpiece, meaning that there are no limits and no recipes when it's about being authentic, and authentic is what it feels real, not only what it is right.
