I usually work with materials which can provide visual pleasure. My work deals dynamic and unique sentiment of current Korean society. During my 10 exhibitions so far, I’ve been displaying paintings which capture everyday life happening around me. It may lack some refined beauty, but I wanted to show the illusion of distinctive drawing which carries insignificant yet unique lifestyle of Korea.
Signboards in disorder, unorganized and complicated city scenes, candy wraps filed up in supermarkets…… Although we always dream of beautiful natural scenery, current Korean society appears nothing but realistic and artificial due to development-oriented era. But these are the true means of inspiration to city people like me, inspiration of Korean city filled with colorful sentiments and passion of life.
