Description
This piece began as a very old, ragged shirt. The image of the tiger is fierce, but not aggressive, beautiful, but not weak. Once the shirt was on the verge of falling apart I pasted the shirt onto a canvas and used it as a base, painting over the image with white and black paint, bringing out the depth and dimension of the tiger itself.
This is a double sided painting, meaning that both the front and the back of the canvas were painted and embellished to create two individual pieces that beautifully complement each other.
