opit.eray
Description
opit.eray
The titles of my drawings are created via a ‘random choice of letters process’ of my design, to create ‘pseudo-word combinations’, so as not to influence the viewer’s first impression/ interpretation with a logical word title.
‘opit.eray’ was done in somber tones of ink, markers, graphite and pencil, evoking an unknown landscape between ground and space; the obscurely troubled and the dazzling calm. It is something that evolved from ‘I don't know where’ (unconscious-subconscious) shapes and forms - a kind of geometric rolling dance, inclusive within boxes and curves that open within others and connect to more shapes and lines. There are reminders of various edifices, larval forms, logical angles, and energetic/ emotional forms.
A movement that started as something lightly sketched, I moved into a thriving passage, and not really knowing at the time, but as I matured the lines/ shading it became more alive and created an opening into a new space. I love this kind of space-realm discovery through free-form abstract drawing.
