The koi fish
Description
After a lot of (self) portraits, I’ve decided to draw something different: a koi fish.
Koi fish is thought to be a symbol of prosperity and luck in Japan. Koi fish always swim upstream, it resist “going with the flow”, they never stop moving, always going forward.
In the Japanese culture each color of the fish has a different meaning: blue for the virility, red for the energy, black for the overcoming adversity.
We can learn something from the koi fish; to remain strong in the face of adversity, to swim against the current and against all the odds with energy and passion. That’s the way we should live our lives: like koi fish
