This painting shows multiple enclosed lives that exist together in the world; The men in suits are fully engaged in discussing their business, the girl is occupied with the belongings she has in her bag. The parking lot itself is walled of from the world outside, of which only the hills in the distance are visible.

Parking (or 'Parkeerplaats' in its original Dutch title) is an oil painting on canvas. The idea started in Photoshop on the computer as a collage of photo cutouts. I often combine photos, cutting and pasting, changing colors, until I find an interesting subject for a painting. For me it's a way to use Photoshop as a sketchpad for ideas.
