나는 작업에 제작과정과 행위에서 인간에 삶과 속성들을 느끼고, 빗대어지는 감정들을 흙 또는 도자기라는 재료를 통해 표현한다.
나의 작업은 조선 백자 달항아리의 제작방법에서 시작된다. 두가지 넓은 그릇 형태를 하나는 온전하게 또 다른 하나는 뒤집어서 붙이는 작업으로 하나의 구(동그라미)가 만들어진다. 이렇게 두가지가 하나로 모아지기까지의 노력과 시간 그리고 적절한 타이밍으로 완성이 된다.
구(동그라미)는 개인이 될 수 있으며, 하나의 조직이 된다. 그 안은 무언가를 담기도하고, 어둡고 푸른색은 내면에 깊이와 신비성을 표현한다. 외형적으로 보이는 자유로움은 어떠한 존재성이며, 구멍들은 공간적 통로가 된다.

My work begins with making Joseon Dynasty porcelain moon jar. One of the two large shapes of a bowl put upside down and attached to other half to create one sphere. The complete sphere is made with effort, time and with appropriate timing.
Sphere may be an individual, also become one organization. Inside the moon jar, it contains something, and expresses depth and mystery within the dark space. Freedom is what appears to be outward existence, and a hole becomes passage of a space.
