I've painted these large peonies in a special period of time, when the spring was coming and early flowers appeared everywhere. It was a time of blooming for nature, a period that inspired me to surround myself with colourful flowers. By painting these peonies I wanted to bring forward the image of summer flowers.
When I conceived it, I imagined a horizontal artwork perfect for a large living room, but when I was finishing it I realised that it could be displayed also as a vertical piece.
