Wabi Sabi
Description
This piece is a collage of handmade paper on top of each other and adhered by sewing. The holes and edges were emphasized with embroidery in a rainbow of colors based on the Japanese gold aesthetic known as Kintsugi. The types of papers used are kozo & gampi and magnolia. The lower blib is kozo & gampi pulp that was set to dry without being pressed, demonstrating the different parts of the papermaking process.
